| Renovations at the Saint Pierre Auberge | | |
Half a million dollars has been invested in the Saint Pierre
to, among other things, revitalize the décor, purchase high-end sheets
and comforters, redo the lighting and change the carpeting in the 31
rooms and suites, restore all the furniture and floors, add HD
wall-mounted televisions and acquire a half dozen paintings of
landscapes and heritage buildings for the guest rooms.
Great news regarding another property owned by the Gilbert family: Hôtel 71,
located next door to the Saint Pierre. The spacious 1200 sq. ft.
penthouse (no. 720) on the roof of the hotel will soon have its own
private terrace. From this excellent vantage point on the tallest
building in the neighbourhood, the penthouse’s occupants will be able to
admire the view of the Old Port, St. Lawrence River and Cape Diamant.
