Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. (NYSE:HOT) and Host Hotels & Resorts, Inc. (NYSE:HST) have opened The Westin New York Grand Central.

The new hotel is in the former New York Helmsley Hotel after the completion of a $75 million renovation.  

The brand’s second Manhattan hotel features a complete redesign of the hotel’s interior including 774 spacious guest rooms equipped with Westin’s signature amenities, more than 12,000 square feet of meeting space with the latest technology, a 3,000-square-foot WestinWORKOUT® fitness studio and the upcoming addition of THE LCL: Bar & Kitchen, NYC, the first bar and food concept from Gerber Group in a Westin property.

Detroit, Mich. - Detroit and its hospitality community are roaring and ready to 
welcome visitors for the 2012 World Series. The Detroit Metro Convention & 
Visitors Bureau (DMCVB) and Detroit Sports Commission (DSC) are already making 
preparations for a warm welcome.

The DMCVB is printing pole banners to hang downtown along Jefferson and Woodward 
Avenues, printing welcome signs for the airport and storefronts, creating D 
buttons for fans and coordinating volunteers to serve as Detroit ambassadors on 
game days.

"Annie Leibovitz" getaway packages to Ohio feature exhibition tickets and more

Columbus' Wexner Center for the Arts only stop to host major Annie Leibovitz exhibition

Columbus, OH -- The Wexner Center for the Arts will devote its entire gallery space to a major presentation of work by photographer Annie Leibovitz from  Sept. 20  through Dec. 30, 2012.

”Annie Leibovitz,” organized by the Wexner Center, will feature more than 200 photographs.  The bulk of the exhibition comes from “Master Set,” an authoritative edition of 156 of her images. 

Leibovitz personally selected and oversaw the printing of the limited edition, large archival pigment prints.  A special lobby display will feature portraits and related working prints by Leibovitz of artists who have appeared at The Wex over the years, some of whom are Wexner Prize recipients.
