Accolades continue for Montreal luxury hotel, selected as one of the magazine’s Top 100 Hotels in the World

ESTEEMED LUXURY PUBLICATION ROBB REPORT NAMES RITZ-CARLTON MONTREAL ONE OF “THE TOP 100 HOTELS” IN THE WORLD

Montreal, Quebec – Robb Report deems the Ritz-Carlton Montreal one of the Top 100 Hotels in the World. The listing follows several other prestigious recognitions the hotel has recently received, since re-opening its doors in May 2012.

Among the recent accolades are the hotel’s inclusion in Condé Nast Traveler’s 2013 Hot List and the CAA/AAA Five Diamond Award win - a rare designation in Canada.

In Robb Report’s own words: “The seat of social business liaisons for 101 years, this neoclassical landmark reopened in 2012 after a reverential restoration. Updates included a Maison Boulud restaurant, a rooftop pool, and 129 rooms with high-tech sensors for guests’ temperature and lighting preferences.”

“We are thrilled to once again be recognized as one of the world’s top luxury hotels,” says Andrew Torriani, CEO and General Manager of the Ritz-Carlton Montreal. “It has been a priority from day one to continually exceed our guest’s expectations.”

To compile the 2013 round-up of the world’s Top 100 Hotels, Robb Report consulted trusted correspondents, associates and experts in the luxury hospitality community. The resulting list profiles an exclusive collection of upscale hotels that strive to offer the very best in hospitality.

About the Ritz-Carlton Montreal

Granted the prestigious CAA/AAA Five Diamond Award – the only one in Quebec – the Ritz-Carlton Montreal has been the most elegant address in the city since 1912. In May of 2012, the hotel re-opened after an extensive multi-year restoration, which saw the Montreal landmark transformed into a chic and modern space.

Located near many high-end boutiques, galleries and museums, this luxury hotel offers guests 98 guest rooms and 31 suites featuring the latest in high-tech amenities, while details from the original hotel abound to accentuate its seamless mixture of old and new. The hotel’s restaurant, Maison Boulud, is operated by the hotel in collaboration with Chef Daniel Boulud and his restaurant management company, The Dinex Group. It was designed by Super Potato, one of the world’s most highly reputed restaurant design firms.

The first hotel in the world to combine the Ritz and Carlton designations, the Ritz-Carlton Montreal is located in the heart of Golden Square Mile, home to Montreal’s elite in the early twentieth century. A symbol of refinement and elegance, the hotel has welcomed some of the world’s best-known heads of state, artists and business magnates. Several of the 20th century’s leading figures have stayed there, including the Queen Mother, Winston Churchill, Charles de Gaulle, Richard Nixon, Pierre Elliott Trudeau, Brian Mulroney, George Bush Sr., as well as Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton, who celebrated their first wedding at the hotel.

The Residences at the Ritz-Carlton Montreal

The Ritz-Carlton Montreal also features 45 new Ritz-Carlton Residences, representing the pinnacle of residential luxury combined with the use of all the amenities and services of the finest hotel in the city including concierge service, fine dining, fitness centre, pool and spa. The endorsement by the Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company LLC for these residences – the only branded residences in Montreal – will be the certificate for the caliber and quality of these residential diamonds. “By attracting prestigious clients from both home and abroad, these residences will further raise the Ritz-Carlton’s and Montreal’s profile as leading destinations,” said Mr. Torriani.
